Introduction: Kenneth P Gurney

Kenneth P. Gurney, returning as this Picnic's emcee (Master of Ceremonies if not time and space), is a poet and publisher of poetry (Hodge Podge Poetry, 1995-1998; Tamafyhr Mountain Poetry, 1998-2006; Origami Condom, 2007-2008), with an anthology of New Mexico poetry, Adobe Walls, appearing soon.  According to Kenneth, his work appears mostly on the web as he spends SASE and reading fee dollars on pumpkin spice cookies for his lover (changed from last year's flowers or the occasional bar of dark Belgian chocolate for himself). His four collection of are all available through Amazon. More about Kenneth, publications and Adobe Walls at http://www.kpgurney.me/Poet/Welcome.html. The site includes a dizzyingly comprehensive list of Kenneth's poems online, with links.

"Adobe Walls will be an anthology of New Mexico poetry, firm bound, at least 130 pages, 6” x 9”.  It’s first issue will be out later in 2010.
The goal of Adobe Walls is to bring together the different styles of poetry: free verse, form and slam (performance) written by the diverse poets of New Mexico.  The anthology will be divided into three sections corresponding to the styles."
Ed. Note: Kenn's bio gets shorter each time he submits one. This year, short enough that I added  details from his website.... in a few years, possibly just an emoticon or a cryptic pictograph. I hesitate to speculate on the evolution of titles. I feel somehow responsible, if only indirectly, for the Web Publications page since I requested samples for the introduction and recommended linking poems directly. The resulting virtual anthology is similar to what I have been assembling for PWP on Delicious, but far more elegant. It's certainly suggests possibilities for a virtual anthology page on the plog.
