Tonight (Wednesday)! #Poetry at The Range hosted by Billy Brown

…featuring Aaron Trumm & Reed Adair Bobroff! Billy writes,

Friends,

I am excited about tonight's Poetry at The Range! Bill Nevins is traveling in Colorado & Northern New Mexico, so he asked me to guest-host for him. I am especially pleased that Aaron Trumm, will be exercising his 13-month-old Shiny Lungs with some great poetry, plus (if what's been emanating from his room recently is any indication) some tunes self-accompanied on guitar! I am also thrilled to hear, for my first time, a performance by Diné poet Reed Adair Bobroff.

Should be a great evening!  (More details below)

Yours for powerful poetry, Billy Brown

Poetry at The Range ~ The Range Café Bernalillo New Mexico. Open mic reading sign ups at 6:30 pm  ~ Reading starts at 7 pm
Aaron Trumm

10th ranked slam poet in the world in 2002.  Since then he has fallen into disrepair, and is currently being remodeled and updated.  He will be on the market in the Spring at a significant mark up.  He recently returned from the US Transplant Games in Houston with a Bronze Medal in the 100 Meter Sprint!

Reed Adair Bobroff

Diné from Albuquerque, New Mexico and a junior at Yale University. Primarily a spoken word artist, he has been featured on HBO's "Brave New Voices" and has performed in Los Angeles, New York, Argentina, and New Zealand. He has shared the stage with artists such as Jessica Helen Lopez, Buddy Wakefield, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Rise Against.  Reed is also the founder of Spoken Roots: an organization teaching poetry in underserved and Native American communities as a tool for identity development, grief counseling, substance abuse and suicide prevention.

Besides these stellar poetry performers, there will be our monthly Open Mic where all poets are welcome, and musicians also are encouraged.

The Range Café provides light refreshments and a lovely performance space. Come early and enjoy a meal, or dessert or a fine libation from the Range's restaurant and full bar. Poetry at the Range Cafe Bernallilo is a monthly free event. Free admission. Donations most welcome.
NB. Bill Nevins is scheduled to read at Sunday Chatter at 10:30 am on August 31 and from his new book Heartbreak Ridge, at Bookworks, at 7 pm on September 2.
